Tides of Fortune is my first published work. It is a collection of 61 poems - some more than 15 years old - that I want to share. My poetry is as "crazy" as is my personality, maybe. And although some of the poems do not follow the more traditional styles, I believe the best way to express ourselves is through our own personal flair and diction. The purpose of this work is to bring readers into the feelings of everyday life, to recognize the beauty of nature, to learn from the past; to appreciate that hope lies within the smallest blade of grass, or in the breath of an autumn breeze. This work touches on the aspects of: life, nature, people, belief, love and perception. Living and interacting with life can leave us a ray of light, where time is our friend, and the belief in love and loving, and being more conscious, guide us to the fortune we have always had before us.Tidings of Fortune would not have been possible, if it were not for all the people I have been fortunate to encounter and the places I have been to, to inspire this first rendition of good fortune. Happy Tidings. About The Author: Born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1979, I live in Grenada where I have spent most of my life.I have never considered myself a very artistic person. I have always wanted to paint or draw, but unfortunately those genes have not reached the tips of my hands. However, I learned early in life that * writing helped me through many hard times. My inspirations are many, and my poems are as moody as the desert sun or a thundering storm.I am currently looking into doing photography and combining it with my poems and prose. I love capturing beauty in as many ways as possible. My brother is a musician and composer, and is completing his own first work.My parents are both healthy and supportive of what we do and are an inspiration themselves. Good health is always important to truly appreciating life and its wonders, and the poetry we create from its hands.
