The “per filium” theology of the Christian East is shown to be the same or similar in meaning to the “filioque” theology of the Christian West. Some original thinking is also brought in through the challenging model of a triangular prism, a model that rethinks traditional and modern presuppositions about God and about the web of relationships within the Trinity and between the Trinity and the world. One of the landmark insights is to show how the universe is intimately tied up with God. And how total Reality is comprised of God and Externality (universe) according to a “relational index” of three-relational-one (3-1). This “relational index” also means that for whatever is “real,” God takes three-quarters whereas the universe takes only one-quarter.
