Synopsis

In contrast to classic "noir" fiction, the characters in these crime and mystery stories develop their intrigues under the bright sun of Greece. Stories with unexpected twists played out right next door, amongst the white backdrop of the Greek Islands or in the depths of the aquamarine sea. In the mysticism and codes of an ancient theater or in the driver's seat of a Ferrari, the result is always hardboiled crime: "The killer knows why" Jilda experiences haunting revelations in Oleander House, Thanos hunts the "Red Car" using women he meets on Facebook, the lighthouse keeper on Paros Island is revealed as a murderer, live on CNN, and Orestes discovers his real-life Helen while he searches for the secret codes of Asclepius in the ancient theater of Epidavros. A Rastafarian quests for the secrets of the mermaid on the rocks of the Venetian Castle of Monemvasia, the wisdom of the Teacher turns out to be poison for Mimis the sailor and Mr. Harmless meddles in the life of a jealous husband.

Biographie de l'auteur

As a reporter, I needed to tell the story in thirty seconds. That same aesthetic of drama and economy of words applies to my short stories of crime. There's action on every page. I live in Greece, where my investigative instincts are continually awakened by the secret codes of the past. Yannis Mitsopoulos
