I have fished and hunted all my life...from Virginia to California...from Japan to Viet Nam...from Canada to Mexico. I'm a genuine conservationist. I joined Ducks Unlimited in 1960 at age fourteen. Thanks to my Dad, my brother Ben, and the US Marine Corps I am an expert shot with a pistol, rifle, shotgun, and a dozen other weapons we used in Viet Nam. I have hand carved and hand painted four dozen duck decoys...own a collection of nearly one thousand decoys...and caught my first fish using a safety pin for a hook and a whiskey bottle cork for a bobber. I live life to the fullest. I leave few bullets unfired...few stones unturned...few dollars unspent...nothing worth doing undone...and nothing that I can mention here untried. Much of what God has allowed me to witness and do is worth sharing...most of it not too embarassing. I am currently writing a series of outdoor adventure books and have had two published. My books are nonfiction, humorous, laugh-out-loud funny, to-the-point, and broken into independent short stories so that men and boys will actually read them; "and are award winning"! I have been blessed with a good mind and vivid imagination. I convert dull into exciting... and exciting into "cannot put it down" readable. I have randomly killed, captured, or conquered most of life's challenges along the meandering trail I've followed. I am the father of three sons and three aging Labs, and am married to one very intelligent and tolerant wife. I attended the University of Missouri during the 1960s intending to study journalism, but switched my major to economics in an effort to flee liberal, long-haired, non-showering, pot smoking, journalism students rife in all my classes. After graduation I joined the Marines and served in Viet Nam. I survived; and was discharged from active duty as a Captain. I am proud to rightfully claim the title of "Crazy Viet Nam Vet"; hung on us 'back when'. I was born in Missouri;
