Biographie de l'auteur

As a career broadcast journalist, John Sandifer, wrote thousands of radio and television stories and won dozens of awards during a 38 year span, mostly in the Northwest: Seattle, Portland, Spokane and Bellingham. While employed by ABC Television Network, during coverage of the devastating Hurricane Camille, in 1969, he came in contact with his roots near Biloxi and West Point, Mississippi. That awakened a desire to investigate his father's pioneer family from South Carolina to the plains of Texas. Working in stops and starts over many years, he completed the story after retiring from KING TV, Seattle, in 1994. His desire was to share it with his family and encourage others to investigate their own forebears for fun and education. John continues to broadcast over area radio stations on behalf of his union, AFTRA and the Washington State Labor Movement. He is married with four grown children and eight grandchildren.
