Ankur Choudhury, born in India (1987) came to U.S.A in August 2005. Hoping to start a new life he joined college at Rutgers University, NJ. With an ambitious mind to pursue a Bachelor's degree in the field of Engineering, life seemed to have been moving with time. But don't they say that along with the blessing of life comes the curse of fate. Sooner or later what he realized was that things weren't exactly how his visions had planned them. On a fine evening, seated at his desk, he was listening to music and editing a term paper when he suddenly looked out the window and saw a police officer walking into his backyard. Hurriedly he went downstairs only to find himself confused. Within the crowd of a dozen was what forced him to enter this abandoned life. Lying on the ground, moving restlessly was none other than his own mother, and he had only to scream "Ma... ma?". Her response was quick, where she looked at him, raised her hand but didn't make it to his. The ambulance only took an hour to reach the emergency room that was approximately a minute away from the scene. Every process delayed, every hope betrayed, and at a latter hospital she was declared brain dead. A few days afterwards, he witnessed them take off the life support and before his eyes she released her last breath. The regular rituals of a funeral ceremony (cremation) followed thereafter, as he says "sometimes I wonder how weights at the gym seem weightless and how a single drop on my palms can be unbearable". Life was just a ride downhill ever since, as academic progression, health, friends, home- all became victims of this cursed fate. To this day the struggles and pain can only be seen behind his eyes, some scribed within this b
