I'm a Canadian Indian, born in 1955, the first generation after the Residential Schools and a scapegoat so my home life was difficult. I grew up in the middle of town so I didn't feel different and when I finished high school in 1973 I wanted to get a career right away, move away from my family then get on with my own life. Unfortunately the Govt. was still trying to hold the Indians back from trying to do something for themselves and I was also slowed down by family dysfunction. I still managed to get a career against overwhelming odds then applied what I learned about life through the hard times to helping Indians help themselves so something great eventually came of it. This is my story.
