Ronnie Savage was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Madison High School, he applied for the Metropolitan Police Department, Nashville, Tennessee. He was hired on May 1, 1977, and began a journey that lasted for decades. After graduating from the police academy, he became a patrol officer and was assigned to the East Precinct. After five years of patrolling the streets, Ronnie was transferred to the Vice Division and was assigned as a detective to the undercover Narcotics Section. During his time as a vice squad detective, Ronnie attended several DEA schools as well as FBI, ATF, ABC, TBI, and other investigative training classes. He was assigned as a special investigator to the DA's office for two years. After his time in Vice, Ronnie was transferred to the department's Criminal Investigative Division, where he worked as a detective until his retirement.
