The Author - Tony Thorne originally qualified as a professional Chartered Design Engineer, and built up a research and development company in Kent, England, specializing in such unusual projects as 3,000 degrees C carbon fibre processing furnaces, liquefied helium gas pipelines, nuclear protection equipment and low temperature surgery instrumentation. The latter and its worldwide commercial success led to him being awarded an MBE by the Queen. Later, he accepted the position of Chief European Executive of an American Company specializing in microbiological analysis instrumentation and computer related products. Now living in Austria and the Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife, he writes mostly Science Fiction and Macabre Tales amd has completed ten collections of short stories, including the award winning TENERIFE TALL TALES (first in a trilogy), FUTURE REASSURED, and FUTURE UNCERTAIN, available via the Internet and various outlets, including AMAZON, WH Smith etc. He has also just completed his first SF action novel POINTS OF VIEW, and a story collection, TALL SF TALES FOR TEENS, aimed at the fast growing Young Adults market.
