'What if I Whispered your Name' - is my personal journey through waves of grief and emotions where I intimately share with the reader my journey through life and the heartaches, including the tragic loss of my 6 year old son after he was swept out to sea in a rip tide. The book illustrates how saddled with guilt, I faced the overwhelming and frightening challenges that grief put before me, of denial, blame, loneliness, guilt, fear, pain and enormous anxiety. Working through my different 'Seasons of Grief', I describe my own 'Arctic Winter of Grief', which I entered after a personal betrayal of those closest to me. This in turn spiralled me into a soul-destroying depression, which almost cost me my own life. Later in 2005, I had a dramatic encounter with those who endured the 2004 South Asian Tsunami and somehow managed to balance my own grief after observing the multitudes of losses others had experienced during this time. After much soul searching I discovered the source that would propel me back into a positive appreciation of life, love, nature and self. With one more final hurdle to go, I faced my ultimate challenge when my eldest son's double lung transplant failed in 2010. I then began to watch as a Miracle unfolded before my eyes as he miraously received second donor organs which would go on to save his life. My experiences of reasoning with the unforeseen uncertainties of life including death, life threatening illness, betrayal and then finding spiritual symbolism should be powerful and challenging to others. What If I Whispered Your Name should inspire, motivate and encourage others facing their own grief and uncertainties in life.
