I was born Gerald Juan Jasper in the small east Texas town of San Augustine; and grew up riding broomstick horses and pretending to be Roy or Gene. Cowboys have always been my heroes and that is why I decided to become a writer of western novels. I still love John Wayne movies. In 1959 I moved to the "big city" of Dallas, Texas, where I've spend most of my adult life. I moved my family to Oklahoma for a decade and eventually came back home to Texas. For 26 years I earned my living as a sales manager for a large southeastern manufacturing company. I've now retired and have more time for writing, not a bad second career. I hope you enjoy A Pair Of Jacks and be looking forward to my next book, called A little South Of Sundown, Linda's Story. I live by my philosophy that . . . "You're never too old to have a happy childhood"
