In February, 2011, twenty-four students gathered on a message forum for an adventure that would take them to new heights of creativity. Their mission: write a short story between two and ten thousand words. Comprised of both boys and girls and from all over the globe, the students’ personalities were as varied as their stories. In these pages, you’ll find whimsical tales of a world of ice cream, ants in the jungle, or a kitten learning to adapt to his new home. If adventure is more to your liking, how about stories of nano bots, a Vietnamese family during the war, or a minuteman’s daughter? Enjoy romance, fantasy, science fiction, or something historically inspired. With such a wide variety of ages, skill levels, and student interests, no one quite knew what to expect, but parents and students alike had high praise for the class, their enjoyment, and eagerness for the next session to begin. We look forward to volume two!
