Synopsis
ORANGE Cherry CoombeRosie’s absurdly disturbing story rampages between Oxfordshire, India and Sao Paulo as her search for enlightenment exposes the dark underbelly of 70s peace and love. As she lampoons her own unresolved relationships, interwoven stories unravel and the past intrudes on the present. Fragments of experience shared; fish-stew, joints and 70s sex; mistaken identity and coincidence colour a kaleidoscope of intersecting lives. Unfinished business agitates and craves an end, propelling a passionate story of life and love across four decades.

À propos de l'auteur
Biography Cherry Coombe. CHERRY COOMBE was born in 1956. Under a Labour government she was allowed to study while her own children were still at school. She graduated with a first-class degree in English in 2004 and now lectures in English. There is nothing remarkable about Cherry Coombe. She has not won the X Factor, found a cure for cancer or arrested the spread of palm oil plantations. She lives in the countryside. Her grown-up children come and go. Those who have read ORANGE ask about biography; people ask if Rosie and her friends live at a real address; if Rosie is Cherry. Perhaps the story has a stronger grasp if the idea has real legs. ORANGE is driven by anxiety, obsession, grief and shock. Its heroine is promiscuous and crap in bed. An admission of auto/biography is unlikely. Cherry is more likely to suggest that she is every character in the book.
