Alyssa Reid is originally from Canada, now resides in Scotland with her husband and her two fur children Kappy Cat (the cat we based the character in this book on) Roo barbecue (also a cat). An entrepreneur at heart she started a t-shirt making business when she was 16 and by the time she was 26 had a vegetarian and Caribbean restaurant and a catering company in Canada. Alyssa also started a food club and newsletter and co-hosted a weekly food and wine radio show. In the UK she have been involved in a variety of businesses, always believing in providing people with information, help and support that they require. "Tot's Tale About the Clever Colour System" is her first children's book she has coauthored, she has previously published an adult's book together with her husband. Alyssa is a Fibromyalgia survivor and believes in positive thought and looking at ways of creating community. Alison Skillin was born in Arizona but now makes her home in Scotland with her husband and young son. She has a host of animals that live with her including Tot (the kitten we based the character in this book on). She has trained two of her dogs as Mobility/Medical Alert Assistance Service Dogs in recent years to mitigate her illness. Alison graduated in 2001 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Animation, Arts & Design from the Art Institute of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. She has illustrated two books now and has had drawings printed in other books over the years. This is her first children's book to illustrate or write. The bulk of Alison's artwork has been sold to private collectors though some can be viewed in online galleries. Alison has been a survivor of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since 1998 and continues to work hard at her life. She uses a wheel chair, crutches, a cane, and a bunch of adaptations to her home to get around. Her husband is her carer. It has been a long and painful road to bring her to this point
