Mid-way through my 32 year Accounting career, I learned that reading is very important to a person's overall abilities. I wish I had realized this as a seventh grader in Jr. High school. It would have made a big difference in my education, career and life. It's never too late to start reading all you can. I was born in Waco, Texas and graduated from A.J. Moore High School in Waco. I then graduated from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. My Accounting career included employment at Texas Instruments in Dallas and Owens Corning Fiberglas Corp. in Waxahachie, Texas. In California, I was an Accountant for Stanford University, Blue Cross of California, Cisco Systems and Hitachi Data Systems. Accounting Consulting also occupied a few years of my career. At the present, I am retired with several hobbies in Oakland, California. They include writing, reading, photography, music, sports and travel. I also enjoy inspiring the younger generation to read all they should as well as all positive material they can. It definitely broadens your horizons. I believe our brains benefit from reading more than we think. That also goes for the older generation. We can all improve many things as each day goes by. We do not have to sit around doing nothing after we retire. Time wasted is not only money wasted, it is also a portion of our lives wasted. My first book, "American Racism" may not be the most pleasant subject to write about or to read however, it is world history as well as current events. It is the Honest to God Truth and this book includes actual facts. I also believe this book is needed by all Americans and foreigners in order to show that many people are hurting because of greed, hatred and selfishness. I have several other subjects in mind to write about in the future. Don't worry; I will improve on each one. During my business career, I never dreamed of or thought I would someday write a book.
