Synopsis

Since I can remember, my life was always rapped up in the Catholic Religion. My parents were active practicing Catholics, teaching by action, and them by word. I attended a Catholic grade school and high school, learning more of my Religion, and attended a Catholic university, where I received four years of theology. As a young boy, in grade school, the Franciscan Sisters, considered me to be lazy, unwilling to learn and study; my miFreshman Chris Carter knew his life would take on new directions and challenges, but he has no concept of what lies before him when he steps foot on the small college campus in Shreveport, L.A. . His simple, safe and structured world of black and white is quickly turned into shades of gray as he must deal with an entrenched fraternity system, sexual involvement that violates his strict Baptist upbringing, and what literally become life-altering and life-threatening decisions. An unwilling participant in the many forms that bullying takes, Chris' life is totally transformed in nine short months. His journey takes place in a time of presumed innocense sandwiched between the sexual awakening of the 50's and the sexual revolution of the 70's, a time affected greatly by uncontrollable external forces. Drawing The Line is alarmingly intense, often humurous, highly sensual with adult situations and a realistic snapshot of today's Baby Boomer's life in the 60's. Boomers will surely pass on this book to the next generation so they will realize that there are some things that never changed was constantly wandering and unable to concentrate on anything for a long period of time. After constant scoldings by the sisters, and my own mother sounding like a Franciscan Sister, at home, I new the only person who could help me was, myself I began to study myself and discovered several things about my brain, my attitude and my way of doing things. Leonard Critcher is married to his college sweetheart, and they reside in Dallas, T.X. He is the author of three nonfiction books, numerous professional articles and is a frequent platform speaker. Drawing The Line is his first novel.
