"Reflections" is a pithy and direct assessment of the supernatural in terms of fact, evidence and reason. It goes beyond the pious haze of "belief" and "faith" to examine the supernatural (including religion) as abstractions of the human mind which must be constrained by existing reality. The author's premise is that, without such constraints, appealing and comfortable abstractions may themselves be accepted as reality resulting in unbounded and perhaps vicious fantasy by various segments of human culture. The author's premise is logically and factually developed citing perceptive philosophical examples, personal experience, and corroborating material by other authors. His bibliography is varied and extensive.

Harv Damschen is a retired fighter pilot who ponders the human condition from the Oregon wilderness. He is sometimes assisted by deer, cougars, his wife of 47 years, and an occasional red-neck trying to flee the madding crowd. He "believes in" fact, evidence and reason, and is of the opinion that the supernatural lacks these qualities.
