There is no cure. That much is certain. Our only defense against the nightmare is a clean headshot. Andrew Stevens was ripped out of his life when the virus hit. He was a promising officer in the American Emergency Response Operations and was just starting college. He had the normal problems of any young adult, ranging from bills to women. But when the earthquake hit, everything changed. At first it was just a normal search and rescue mission: look for survivors, find them, and bring them back home. But when one of the victims tried to bite Andrew’s teammate, he knew there was a catastrophic situation at hand. A mutated virus was on the loose and was bringing something far worse than death to the survivors of the 2010 Haitian Earthquake. The first Zombie Apocalypse had started. The clock begins ticking as the Centers for Disease Control gets involved. Questions start flying as to whether the virus can be contained, and if it’s really just limited to Haiti. Panic begins to spread faster than the contagion, but the overconfident response teams believe they are able to neutralize those that are infected. As the clean and sweep operations continue, Andrew receives a horrifying report that two subjects have escaped and may well be infected; the worst part is, they are headed for the United States. When his superior officer assigns his team to destroy the Stateside threat, he obliges, all along knowing that it is probably too late. Three weeks later, the entire world is at the mercy of the virus. With suspense, action, and a hint of romance, Edge of Death details how a group of young adults would deal with a zombie apocalypse in the real world, and the psychological effects of one simple rule: kill or be killed.
