Global competition has forced enterprises to release products and services at the fastest speed to meet the dynamic customer needs in order to gain competitive advantages and market shares, and the most important key is the marketing of these products and services. In addition, the marketing management process requires budget control, time control, quality control, and human integration and risk aversion. Therefore, applying project management’s knowledge and techniques to manage the marketing of products and services usually results in great effects. Especially when the product and service’s time to market is closely related to gaining competitive advantages, a good marketing project management process is definitely the key to gaining competitive advantages for products and services. The combination of marketing management and project management is called marketing project management.

Chiu-Chi Wei obtained Ph.D. in Engineering Management from University of Missouri – Rolla, USA, in1992. He is now a Professor of Industrial Management at Chung-Hua University, Taiwan. Professor Wei introduced both project management certificates of PMP and IPMA to Taiwan in 2001 and 2005 respectively. He was the founder and Secretary General of Taiwan Project Management Association and the Representative of Taiwan to IPMA. Professor Wei is now the President of American Project Management Association.
