Dr. Shaoshan Liu is the Director of Embodied Artificial Intelligence at Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS). For the past decade, he has been a pioneer and technical leader in the intelligent electric vehicle industry. He has served as the chief scientist of BeyonCa, and is the founder of PerceptIn. He was also a senior architect and founding member of Baidu's autonomous driving team.Dr. Liu is the founder of the IEEE Special Technical Community on Autonomous Driving Technologies, Chair of IEEE Entrepreneurship Asia, Chair of IEEE International Roadmap of Devices and Systems (IRDS), a member of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM)'s US Technology Policy Committee, a member of US National Academy of Public Administration's (NAPA) Technology Leadership Panel Advisory Group, a member of the Forbes Technology Council, and an agenda contributor of the World Economic Forum (WEF).Dr. Liu is also a member of the Global Young Academy, an IEEE Senior Member, and a member of AAAS. His educational background includes a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Harvard University. In the field of intelligent electric vehicles, Dr. Liu has published more than 100 research papers and holds more than 150 patents. He has also published three textbooks on autonomous driving technologies.
