Synopsis

He terrorizes her by day and invades her dreams at night. An old friend offers temporary relief when he invites her to the exotic city of Salvador, Brazil. In the romantic, tropical atmosphere, Siri finds love and a culture she never imagined. When she encounters the ancient Afro-Brazilian religion of Candomble, she discovers the answer to her problem back in Seattle. She must accept the existence of the supernatural to battle the Bokor on his own turf--the world of ancestral spirits and angry, African gods.

Carol Collier lives in northern California where she writes fiction and works as an editor. She holds degrees in education and psychology from the University of Virginia, California State University at Los Angeles and Seattle University. Many of her novels reflect her passion for wilderness areas and protection of the environment. Past publications include three novels: An Appalachian Summer, River Dreams, and Someone is Watching. Collier received a California Writer’s Club, Jack London prize for Bokor as a work in progress. Her stories appear in Vintage Voices, an annual anthology published by the California Writers’ Club. Collier’s first novel, An Appalachian Summer, was a prize winner in “The Next Great Book” contest. Always fascinated by the supernatural, she has just completed a new and unusual anthology of short stories. Sonoma, Tales of a Twisted Vine will be published in July. The book has been described as "Alfred Hitchcock meets the Twilight Zone".
