J. Craig Venter is founder, Chairman, and CEO of the J. Craig Venter Institute, a non-profit research organisation. He is co-founder of the biotechnology companies Celera, Synthetic Genomics, and Human Longevity. David Ewing Duncan is an award-winning science journalist.
