À propos des auteurs
Claudia Baldoli is Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Milan, Italy. Her latest publications include Bolscevismo bianco. Guido Miglioli fra Cremona e l'Europa, 1879-1954 (Morcelliana, 2021), Italian Fascism, 1914-1945: Themes and Interpretations (2023) and, with Luigi Petrella, Aventino: Storia di un'opposizione al regime (Carocci 2024).
Brendan Fleming is Honorary Senior Research Fellow in English at the University of Buckingham, UK.

It tells much about Italian society under the strain of war and Allied bombing, and about the behaviour of both prominent fascist leaders and ordinary Italians.
