Synopsis

This early work by the celebrated American Quaker pastor, William Byron Forbush, was first published in 1902. Forbush wrote numerous books, generally from the point of view of his religious beliefs. This work is on the training of children. Here is a short extract from the author's preface: 'The solution of the problem may be sought from three sources: from a study of boy life, from a study of the ways in which children spontaneously organize socially, and from a study of the ways adults organize for the benefit of boys. Such studies are the contents of the first four chapters. Following these are some conclusions and suggestions.' To compliment the republication of this work, a brand new introductory biography of the author has been added.
