This antiquarian book contains the fourth instalment of the final episode in the fantastic d'Artagnan Romances, “The Man in the Iron Mask”. Thirty-five years after the events of the last episode, the famous foursome become divided when they find themselves on opposing sides in a fierce struggle for power that threatens to undermine the young king and revolutionise the French monarchy. A masterful retelling of a true account, “The Man in the Iron Mask” constitutes a must-read for fans of Dumas’s work, and would make for a worthy addition to any personal library. Alexandre Dumas (1802–1870) was a famous French writer. He is best remembered for his exciting romantic sagas, including "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo". Despite making a great deal of money from his writing, Dumas was almost perpetually penniless thanks to his extravagant lifestyle. His novels have been translated into nearly a hundred different languages, and have inspired over 200 motion pictures.
