Paul wrote this book because he saw too many long-term unhealthy relationships develop between divorce attorneys and their clients, and didn't think that a long term relationship with one's divorce attorney was a good thing. Paul says "I wrote this book so that you, the reader can avoid your divorce becoming the stuff of gossip at a cocktail party or family gathering. No one's divorce should be that interesting."
