Synopsis

Parallel Dreams, Janet Scott McDaniel’s second book of poetry, demonstrates her rare gift for weaving rich imagery around the palpable emotions of human experience in a way that is both inescapably beautiful and in a writing style that captivates the reader. Parallel Dreams delves into the human experience giving a fresh perspective to all aspects of life: love, loss, memory, and dimensions seen and unseen, mystically offering readers joy, tears, and inspiration on every page."Parallel Dreams gives the reader poems with tight weaves, rich colors, long echoes. Janet’s work resonates on many levels, as she is one of the rare poets who is expressive and soul-searching, lyrical and eloquent, writing in the tradition of the Celtic bards. Her work is rich and inspiring, unique and amazing, and most assuredly…unforgettable." – Chris Dickerson, novelist, playwright and poet.

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

Janet Scott McDaniel, born in Catonsville, Maryland began writing poetry at age 15, but recently emerged from a 25 year hiatus to resume her life as a poet. She has an Associate of Arts degree in fine art, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her fine art and psychology background manifests itself in her work because she is very attuned to the visual imagery while deftly crafting the words to evoke emotion. If she can create within you that sense of joy or despair, reflection or inspiration, or create a new train of thought - it means she has accomplished what she was inspired to do - touch your heart. She was invited to read at the Legendary Women in Poetry event at Edna St. Vincent Millay’s home, Steepletop, in Austerlitz, New York in July 2012. She was also a finalist in the Fermoy, Ireland International Poetry Festival, Overseas Poetry Competition for 2012. Ms. McDaniel currently lives on the East Coast. Her first book, The Light and other Collected Poems was published in September 2011.
