Dr. Mitch Spero, the Director of Child & Family Psychologists in Florida, is a nationally known Licensed Psychologist who has become internationally known for his dedication to training a turtle named Florida. The American Psychological Association publication Monitor On Psychology, in issue March 2008, Vol. 39, No. 3 highlighted Dr. Mitch Spero with an article in the People section as "Psychologist and Turtle Take Media by Storm". Using this remarkable tool of a trained therapy animal, along with many other methods, he reaches children and helps them to overcome basic anxiety, fears, frustrations, sadness, and insecurities.
