About the Author John J. Riley is a retired piano restorer and merchant, having run his piano business in Philadelphia for fifty-seven years. He is a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After his retirement, he has written and published three books. Sarah's Life is his fourth effort; it is loosely based on his mother's life. He is the father of six children and grandfather of six grandchildren. He is a lover of the past and glorious memories of a time and place of gentler times. While Sarah's Life is a book with an element of fiction, a good part of this story is true.
