Flower Power explodes into fire power for a lonely young woman during the Sumer of Love in this suspenseful story that exposes the dark underbelly of historical time and place. In 1984 Liz awaits the verdict on the parole board for her murder of a roommate. Contemplating her past sins she recounts her fall from a good life in Scotlan before the death of her young son who was kidnapped and murdered. Soon afterward her husband abandons her, blaming her for their son's death when her lies reveal she knew more about the crime. In disgrace, Liz leaves in hopes of a fresh beginning, where no one will know of her shame. She arrives in San Francisco during the Summer of Love and is pulled into the scene of groovy young people and free love. She joins a commune with a curious mix-match roomies: Black Panthers trying to change the world, Vietnam vet seeking inner peace, flamboyant hairdresser ready for fame and love, and a flower child with her drug dealer boyfriend who changes girlfriends often. Soon Liz becomes embroiled in drug running and a plot to bring down the Black Panthers. She now has to make life or death choices. No one expects anything heroic from Liz. The story is a vividly recounted tale of lies, plots, sex, drugs and murder that takes place during an unforgettable time in history.
