Synopsis

She arrives in San Francisco during the Summer of Love and is pulled into the scene of groovy young people and free love. She joins a commune with a curious mix-match roomies: Black Panthers trying to change the world, Vietnam vet seeking inner peace, flamboyant hairdresser ready for fame and love, and a flower child with her drug dealer boyfriend who changes girlfriends often. Soon Liz becomes embroiled in drug running and a plot to bring down the Black Panthers. She now has to make life or death choices. No one expects anything heroic from Liz. The story is a vividly recounted tale of lies, plots, sex, drugs and murder that takes place during an unforgettable time in history.

June Ahern is the author of "The Timeless Counselor: The Best Guide to a Psychic Reading" and a novel, "The Skye in June". Ms. Ahern, like some of her main characters, was born in Glasgow Scotland and in the mid-1950's immigrated to California U.S.A. In the 1960's she came of age in San Francisco. She lives in Northern California with her husband.
