This is a personal account of a life in a difficult, uncertain profession and the way in which the changing political climate in Britain affected it. Terry Johns’s father was a miner in South Wales and the book contains interesting parallels between the miners’ struggle for their industry’s survival and those of the music profession, beset with budget cuts, a major strike against the BBC and the digital revolution in recording.
