This book is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Martha Faye Morgan. Her smile was infectious and her words were often kind. My mother taught me how to love others and how to be generous. These are lessons that I continue to learn today and hope to instill in my children. A Smile And A Kind Word, is meant to impart a positive message to all who read it. Too often, kids think they have to be a superhero or do something spectacular in order to make the world a better place. A Smile And A Kind Word, is an encouraging poem that helps kids understand how sometimes the smallest things, such as a smile and a kind word can make the biggest difference.

À propos de l'auteur

Eric Riddick was born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in the small community of Richlands, North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University on a full-scholarship for football and also competed with the track and field team. Eric was a part of North Carolina State’s All-ACC championship track team as well as an All-ACC long jump champion himself. Eric began to develop his love for writing and poetry while attending North Carolina State University. He was a writer for the North Carolina State University’s newspaper for two years. His love for poetry and writing was further enhanced by the vibrant artistic culture of Montreal, where he lived for three years while playing for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. After three years as a professional football player, Eric decided to pursue ministry while living in Calgary, Alberta. He attended Rocky Mountain College where he was the captain of their championship basketball team and led their Avalanche Team in outreach ministries. Eric is currently the Area Director of Young Life Calgary Center where he mentors young adults, helping them to reach kids in the Calgary area. He also holds the position of Regional Development Director of Young Life Southern Alberta. In his spare time Eric enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He is well known for his love of woodworking, chess and badminton. He recently helped his wife create a publishing company (HEN Publishing), where they help authors self publish their books.
