Alberto Partida is an IT Security and Information Risk Management analyst and author. He is a M.Sc. graduate in telecommunication engineering by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), specialised in computer science and IT security and an MBA graduate by Henley Business School (University of Reading). He started in IT security in 1996 as a student preparing his dissertation on Java-based public-key cryptography and hardening Linux and MS Windows installations. Since 1998, his professional experience covers network, system, application and business process security. Alberto provides his expertise to international organisations, coordinating a FIRST-member team of IT and Security experts focused on an business-enabling IT risk reduction approach within the technology and organisational realm. He also conveys his passion for information security to his undergraduate students and to his readers. Alberto is a member of the SANS GIAC Advisory Board. He obtained CCSK, CRISC, CEH, CISA, CISSP, CGEIT, Gold GSEC, Gold GCFW, Gold GCFA, GCIA and GREM GIAC certifications.
