Synopsis

The year is 2021. The earth is rapidly warming. The Arctic sea ice is shrinking rapidly. Erratic weather is the new normal. Into this bleak picture step a group of Arctic scientists presenting their findings during the International Polar Year in Alaska, coupled with field trips to validate their research. The science of climate change is no longer in question. The question becomes, "Does the international community have the political will to band together to avoid a "tipping point" that could spell catastrophe for our planet?" Four non-scientists - a former Nebraska football star, his son, and their bear dog, together with an Icelandic college student - meet in Alaska and forge a friendship that is fraught with crises, epiphanies, and sacrifice. Changed by their experiences, the men return to their respective homes determined to save the world. They later meet in Iceland for an international climate conference. Will the political maneuvering be successful in securing an agreement between the developed and developing countries - a goal that has eluded the world for years? Stay tuned!
