Nicey H. Polk, English educator and motivational speaker, is the oldest of 11 children. After graduating from Coahoma CC and Jackson State, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she earned her M.A. from Ohio State. She is currently compiling a poetry collection and revising her creative nonfiction book, Patching Up the Rough Places. She has three adult children-Bill, Caroline and Rasheda.
