David Bagga is an American born Author and one of the youngest writers in the United States. He was born and raised in Irvine, California to Steve and Liz Bagga in 1986 and has a younger brother named Derek. An outgoing young man, David had an array of talents as a kid that included singing, dancing, and athletics. David wanted to be a fighter pilot until he started playing basketball at the age of 13. In the fall of 2001, David attended basketball powerhouse Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California and was a varsity basketball player from 2003-05. He was a reserve shooting guard on a team that went 31-4 and reached the 2005 CIF State championship game in Sacramento. While at Mater Dei, David caught the attention of Hall of fame coach Lute Olson and pursued his dream of playing college basketball and was offered a walk-on spot at the University of Arizona. David Bagga stepped onto the University of Arizona's campus in 2005 and would wind up revolutionizing the word "Walk-On". From Day one, Bagga was a glue guy for the University of Arizona men's basketball team; he pushed the other players in practice and made it his personal goal to make his teammates, and himself better on a daily basis. Off the court, Bagga displayed excellence in the classroom, making the prestigious Dean's List for three years and leading his team in community service hours every season while carrying the teams GPA for three out of his four years. Bagga also was a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and helped with making decisions throughout the PAC10. David Graduated from the University of Arizona in the summer of 2009 which a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Communication, Business, and Regional Development. David was also offered invitations to try out for the NBA Development league as well as various teams overseas in England that included the Sheffield Sharks, New-Castle Eagles, London Capitals, and Plymouth Raiders. For four years, Bagga kept a journal about his experience as a division one basketball player with hopes that people would appreciate the journey of a walk-on student athlete. In the fall of 2009, those hopes became real when Bagga released is first book, "The Walk-On". "The Walk-On" has inspired thousands of kids across the country and has been featured in numerous articles with the likes of The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CNBC, and Yahoo!
