Kam began her writing career as the first woman in the press box as sports editor at the University of Colorado, and then spent over a dozen years in corporate public relations for firms like Abbott Laboratories, Baxter-Travenol and Bell & Howell. She is an extensively published freelance writer and a public relations/marketing consultant in Los Angeles. She created Kalvin the Kamel, his friends & family (that live on the Kamel Krest reservation in AZ) as an edutainment enterprise that would teach children about growing up, as well as about American history & geography (see www.kalvinthekamel.com). Kalvin also became the poster boy for Camel Power Now, an advocacy group Kam founded in 2007 (see www.camelpowernow). This Group advocates using camel’s milk to feed the starving in Third World countries.
