Author Robert A. Melone, Sr. is a retired educator who worked for over thirty years in the schools of New York State. His last position was as superintendent of schools in Western New York. Holding multiple degrees from SUNY at Buffalo, Melone earned his doctorate in education with a focus on curriculum and staff development. He also has ten years of experience in transportation management as a quality consultant. He is the co-author of 2009's Shifting Gears: Applying ISO 9000 Quality Management Principles to Trucking. Melone and his wife, Juanita, have four children and thirteen grandchildren.
