Roy Miller is a native of Macon, Georgia. In 1983 he received a B.A. in Sociology from Mercer University, located in Macon, Georgia. In 1991, Roy graduated from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. Also, he is a graduate of the Atlanta School of Radio and Television broadcasting. Miller spent several years working for the Georgia Governor's Office in Consumer Affairs. Overcoming polio at age three, Miller's tenacity and courage to beat the odds have led to significant accomplishments. Miller's mother was his great life-long influence. She instilled in Roy a belief in God and the desire to love all people. Roy's family encouraged him to take on the odds and to never give up. Helping others and educating himself have been central in his life. Roy's love for music has also been a passion. An accomplished R&B/Jazz vocalist and musician, he plays almost all modern instruments. Miller states his belief, 'If, at the end of a lifetime, you haven't done anything to help anyone, you're going to look pretty small in the eyes of God'. Miller took a big step toward helping others when in 1994, he became the first and only person to succeed in having the n-word deleted from a major dictionary. In August of 2002 Miller traveled, as a special guest, to Baltimore, MD and played a significant role in assisting Baltimore, MD City Councilman Melvin Stukes: in having the first resolution passed that discourages the use of the n-word. Attorney Miller was presented with an appreciation Resolution from the City of Baltimore, MD for his argument that helped get the n-word Resolution passed. In February of 2007, Attorney Miller traveled to New York City, by invitation of Councilman Leroy Comrie and presented contributing argument, which led to the passing of New York City's resolution discouraging n-word usage.
