For two decades Richard Masterson taught American history at the high school level in Illinois and Wisconsin before assuming a position in school administration in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor's degree in education and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master's degree in American history as well as earning School Administration Certification from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. Masterson is the author of an historical novel based upon the harrowing exploits of James Reed, a Union soldier in the Civil War and great-grandfather of his wife Mary, entitled "Salisbury ." Retired, Masterson resides in Wisconsin where he continues to write and spend as many moments as available observing his two granddaughters, eight-year-old Ella and ten -year-old Julia, change the world one day at a time.
