Synopsis

The "Roaring Twenties". The luxury steamship Benjamin Franklin leaves Genoa and sets out on a trans-Atlantic voyage it has taken many times before. Alexander Romanovich Belyaev (1884 - 1945) is a Russian/Soviet adventure and science fiction author. His focus was on writing the kind of literature that would both entertain and educate the readers. Belyaev's knowledge of science and engineering enabled him to create books with dynamic plots, but also filled with factual information presented in a form much more engaging than a school science class. This style of writing had earned him the nickname "Russian Jules Verne"
