In Chicago, a law was passed in 1916 that set up geographic boundaries where Blacks would live in the city.This created Chicago's ghetto and our segregated schools. The law was repealed in 1948. By then, non-retractable damage was done to millions of us, children and adults alike.

Marcia, a native Chicagoan, is a product of Chicago Public Schools. After receiving a B.A. degree from Talladega College, in Alabama, and a M.A. degree from the University of Chicago, she devoted 32 years with Chicago Public Schools as a teacher/ administrator/and desegregation consultant.
