Ken was born and raised in Southern California. After high school, he spent three years in the Army during the Viet Nam era. He completed his military service in Europe where he met and married his wife, Barbara. They decided to remain abroad to continue workand further their education. Two years later in southern Spain, they both became Christians. Ken earned his BA from the American College of Greece where he and his wife helped establish the Hellenic International Christian Church which thrives to this day. Years later he leveraged his MBA from Regent University to establish a Christian consulting business for emerging democracies in Eastern Europe, teaching business principles and practices with the Christian message. In all, he’s lived eighteen years in five countries and went on to work and travel in eighty more. Returning to the USA, Ken worked as Vice President, Membership Development for BOMA International, a professional association based in Washington, DC. Later serving as Area Director, Ken expanded the Christian Broadcasting Network’s ministry center in northern Virginia, leading a staff of 120 paid and volunteer workers in counseling and inner city relief efforts. Ken’s seven-year tenure brought expansion of the programs and greater involvement with church and civic leaders, and assisted thousands of poverty-stricken and homeless throughout three adjoining states. Ken went on to serve in the marine industry for thirteen years. He developed and managed dealer networks for all product lines of the Luhrs Marine Group throughout the world. He then designed the marketing plan and budget for Australian boat manufacturer, Mustang Marine, then developed and trained dealer networks in North and South America. In 2010, Ken fulfilled a lifetime desire to delve into international development by joining USAID (the US Agency For International Development) and served 14 months in southern Afghanistan. Throughout the years, Ken and his family have attended church, facilitated home groups, led short term mission trips abroad and otherwise helped when needs presented themselves. Their daughter, Lisa, serves with the US Foreign Service in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and their son, Alston, has just completed his undergraduate studies. Ken lives in Northeast Florida with his wife, Kanjana.
