It gives some idea of the fun and excitement involved in systems engineering, and will interest new and aspiring engineers. It may even have some reminiscences for older engineers. As a bonus this book includes descriptions of various international military,industrial and aeronautical computer based businesses together with their associated commercial practices. The individual chapters can be read separately as they are reasonably independent.

Meher Kapadia has had a long and interesting career working for two large international systems companies, GEC Automation and CAE Electronics in the UK and Canada. His career also included a period working at SNC-Lavalin, a large diversified engineering and construction company, followed by some years as an independent engineering consultant. His appointments included positions in systems programming, engineering, marketing, executive management and consulting. Retirement is his opportunity to do something else. Having retired, he now spends his time investigating and re-learning forgotten technical and scientific issues as well as keeping up with amateur interests in ancient world history . While spending time between two houses in the UK and Canada, he is still able to keep up recreational activities in cross country skiing, scratch golf, hiking and cycling. Very occasionally he even clears the cobwebs on his old dinghies while sailing on Lac St Louis in the west island of Montreal
