David Garza is the Managing Director of COMPASS Human Capital Advisors, a business improvement consulting practice with a people expertise, that works with organizations to develop a people strategy to achieve their business strategy and financial goals. David has over 25 years of leadership experience and has held HR leadership positions within Temple-Inland, Merck, Medco Health Solutions, and GRUMA Corporation. As a U.S. Army combat veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his combat service and the Army Commendation Medal with "V" device for Valor for heroism under enemy fire. David graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point earning a B.S. in Engineering with a focus of study in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. He earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin as a Fellow of the Consortium of Graduate Study in Management. David has certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt, MBTI Practitioner, and a DDI Targeted Selection Administrator and previously held a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
