This, simultaneously, brings about the purification and forgiveness of all sins committed in this lifetime. This is the land of the Sun. In this spot I started to understand the difference between the world that I was coming from and the one that was standing before me. This is without doubt the most beautiful spot on Earth. This is Shambala! These were moments of great happiness, when all the struggles of travelling are forgotten and replaced by sheer joy. This is the physical and spiritual climax of the pilgrimage because the Drolma La pass is considered the most holy spot on the trail and arrival there marks the beginning of a completely new life.

Milan P. Rakocevic, PhD Architect, Professor at University of Belgrade, Serbia, University of Novi Sad and State University of Novi Pazar. Former Dean of Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade (1994-1996). Studied architecture in Belgrade and Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts). Has lived and worked in France, Switzerland, Algeria, Panama and Australia. Has worked on numerous projects in Serbia and abroad, receiving various prestigious awards. He has written several books and many papers on the subject of architecture. He has visited over sixty countries, from Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia, South and North America, up to the Arctic circle and Alaska. He has been to Southeast Asia, Indochina, India, Nepal, Tibet and Siberia, as well as the Easter Islands in the Pacific Ocean. In his journeys he has also been to South and Eastern Australia, North, Central and East Africa. Searching for prehistoric cave paintings and engravings, he has taken part in three expeditions to the Sahara. He has published numerous newspaper articles describing his exciting journeys and has also held a number of public speeches and lectures on the subject. As a mountaineer, he has been to the highest European peaks (Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, Schwarzhorn), Africa (Kilimanjaro) and Australia (Mt Kosciusko). On his pilgrimage to holy Mt Kailash, in the Himalayas, he spent a month recording with words and photographs extraordinary experiences and magnificent landscapes. He wrote the script for? television series about travelling in Tibet.
