Synopsis
After Mickey Urie has been dazzled by his introduction to the overwhelming concept of a hollow earth, he and his companions continue the breathtaking dive into the dilemma of solving the mystery of the obscure clues and cryptic instructions, and to do so before the opposition can destroy all hope of continuing with Jacob's challenge of the Quest. Cunning strategies are employed by both sides as the unrelenting battle between good and evil intensifies into a fever pitch of deadly confrontations, harrowing escapes and miraculous intercessions. Bertha, an elderly lady who is Mickey's confidante in the discovery of Jacob, shockingly reveals her true identity along with her extremely wealthy background; and she also divulges the fact that massive plans are already well underway to sweep Mickey into a whole new world of intriguing mystery, intense preparations and deadly opposition. Alliances and oaths of loyalty are established, and the newly handpicked Team Members embrace the sanctity of the quest; for the gauntlet has been thrown down, and the courageous encounters of the daunting expedition lay ahead, and the precarious journey into the unknown is launched in the face of diabolical treachery and seething resistance.
