Alan R. Sims is a nationally recognized expert on mortgage fraud and real estate related issues. In January, 2011 he assisted a homeowner in proving fraud against a titan bank on a very tight budget. It was the first victory of its kind since the housing crisis began. While not an attorney, he is consulted by attorneys nationwide as an expert witness to build cases against banks, mortgage firms, and mortgage scam operations. He teaches attorneys and judges in California State Bar approved continuing education courses on real estate matters. In 2009 he formed The Center for Litigation and Consumer Real Estate Education , a national nonprofit, to empower homeowners to fight back against their banks and mortgage companies. Recently, the name has been changed to Courtroom Advocates. Having a passion for helping "the little guy," Sims has spent the past 20 years collaborating on varying sizes of real estate legal battles. He considers it a privilege to empower distressed homeowners and help them find their "voice" while offering actionable, affordable solutions.
