The author and her husband rode every mile of each of the 23 motorcycle routes described in the book. They circumnavigated the state and set foot in all four corners. Cynthia Lueck Sowden was born and raised in Minneapolis. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and has worked in corporate communications, public relations and advertising for more than 30 years. She began freelancing after the birth of her daughter, Elizabeth, and has written more than 100 magazine articles for various publications, including RoadRUNNER magazine. She is the author of two previous books, Wedding Occasions: 101 New Party Themes for Wedding Showers, Rehearsal Dinners, Engagement Parties and More! and An Anniversary to Remember: Celebrations for the Years One to Seventy-Five. She also contributed chapters to Masters of Sales by Ivan Misner and Don Morgan, and How I Got the Gig, edited by Susan Carter. Ralph Sowden is an electrical engineer who caught the motorcycle bug when he got his grandfather’s Suzuki B100P running again and took it for a test drive. The couple lives in Minneapolis.
