Synopsis

Joyce Lattimer is thrilled to work in a Boston hospital's Neonatal Intensive care Unit, but while caring for the helpless infants she discovers that someone is murdering them there. She and her friend, Nancy, uncover evidence to show that Martha Ryan is responsible for the deaths of at least 20 infants.The hospital administrators refuse to believe that one of their own would do such a horrible thing and their solution is to "upgrade" the NICU to all RN's which removes Martha, who is an LPN, from the unit. Martha is moved to the pediatric unit where she continues to create problems.Joyce wants Martha's license revoked and continues to work to that end only to find that a mysterious caller begins to threaten her family and friends. Trying to protect those she loves and the children at the hospital becomes her obsession and her downfall.

The whole time I was growing up, I wanted to be a nurse. Born in Presque Isle, Maine, I grew up as a “military brat”, living all over the United States and in Europe. I didn’t finish nursing school until after my three children were born. Since then I have worked as a Registered Nurse in several hospitals, taught in a Vocational Nursing School, and I spent a short time as a prison nurse at the Women’s Correctional Facility in Gatesville, Texas. I have worked in OB, Pediatrics, NICU, Dialysis and Geriatrics. I now live in Bentonville, Arkansas
